Wyrvask, Unrelenting Gaze and Wyrmgod of Balance

Return to previous page.

Wyrvask was the second Wyrmgod to awaken, and is frequently referred to as the Wyrmgod of Balance due to its dedication to keeping Talveria in order. If an Elder Wyrm is interfering too much with Talveria's native mortals, it sends one of its own after it, if a population of any form of life is dwindling, it grants aid through its lesser Wyrms, if a group of people is subjugated by another, it not only sends its lesser Wyrms out to liberate them, it physically manifests itself to inspire the people it is freeing. Because of this, it is loathed by the Wyrmgod of Control—Iovien.

ART

a bulky, dull purple dragon with one eye and muscular arms in place of wings on its back, its underside is a dull pink. Its head has two, long horns that point straight up, and the front half of its mouth is lipless with visible gums. It has four tusks that point forwards, they emerge from its upper jaw. Its eye is yellow in the center and orange on the edges, its pupil is vertically slitted, and has two more horizontal slits down the middle. Just behind its jaw are four holes. Its front legs are muscular and bear sharp claws at the end, it stands on its knuckles in a similar manner to a gorilla. The arms on its back are longer than its front limbs and end in three hooked talons. Its hind legs are also muscular and end in five claws. The tail is short and hangs down. To its right is its name and title, Wyrvask, Unrelenting Gaze

Design Notes

I originally designed Wyrvask back in 2021 and it hasn't changed much physically, though its personality was very different back then. It was the Wyrmgod of Judgement and was significantly more dangerous to Talveria's mortals, any who caught its eye would be destined to die no matter what. I still kept some of the eye stuff, now it is capable of seeing nearly anything on Talveria no matter where it is physically located, the only exceptions being places that have been taken over by one of the other Wyrmgods. When designing it, I was inspired by bulls and how powerful they are, so I wanted Wyrvask to be physically imposing. I've always depicted it as being a knuckle walker, over the years of drawing it, my ability to draw monsters that stood like that has improved greatly.
