Varunti are hard-shelled worms which are commonly seen in the northern regions of Talveria, especially Kalgor and Vandir. They are incredibly girthy and can reach nearly four feet in length, they bear quadripartite jaws which are lined with many small, sharp teeth. Varunti primarily feed upon other, smaller worms and other invertebrates. They are also a staple food of many Arvog and Droch cultures, eaten boiled, steamed, roasted, or even raw. Their flavor is savory and somewhat earthy, and depending on their environment and diet, may even be sweet. The two most common methods of catching Varunti are through traps or smoking them out of their burrows. Other than leather gloves to protect one's hands from being bitten, very little equipment is needed to safely collect these worms.

The Varunti was initially designed some time in 2018, before I created the first iteration of Talveria, it was originally only three inches long, but since I have made it a staple food of many Arvog and Droch, I have increased their size.
