Tormentitrices are commonly trained as riding dragons despite their poor temper, as they are very loyal to their rider and will protect them with their life, even if they immediately begin pecking their rider once they're safe. Tormentitrices lay their eggs on top of pillers they build out of clay and saliva. They are so named for the venom produced on their tail spines, and while it is nonfatal, it is extraordinarily painful and will cause significant anguish to the afflicted victim for around eight hours, completely wearing off in approximately three days. While they are capable of flight, they are much more comfortable on the ground and are excellent runners.

• Colors: Shades of green, blue, and/or red (body), bright red or blue (crests)
• Related Species: Sliverhawk
