Skumlangers are quadrupedal, eyeless sophonts which live within the Great Tar Swamps. Their pearlescent beak is jagged and used for tearing meat, while the massive blue sac covering their head, neck, and back stores massive amounts of tar. This "tar sac" heats up the tar within to its boiling point, the Skumlanger will then fire the tar at its target, whether it be prey or a potential threat. Skumlangers will not eat any meat that hasn't been cooked by their tar, many are also picky about the subtle differences in taste and texture between the tar in different areas of the Swamps.
