Ornovask are large, omnivorous monsters that are found in the Southwestern Region. They are commonly found around and in muddy or rocky rivers in herds of up to 15 individuals, they can may stay underwater for several hours due to the twin horns on their nose, they act in a similar way to snorkels, allowing the beast to be almost entirely submerged. They feed on both aquatic and terrestrial plants, as well as any fish they come across. Very few monsters prey on them due to their size and armor plating, but predators do exist, Ornovask prefer to use their tail club to defend themselves, though they will also use their fists if the threat is in front of them. Ossified growths are found on their knuckles, these reinforce their hands and allow them to "punch" down trees to mark their territory, though they can be used as a deadly weapon. The bony protrusions found on its limbs only begin development once an Ornovask is halfway to its fully grown size. In females, they are beige in color, while in males, they are a dark brown, gaining bright red markings in mating season. These protrusions are full of blood vessels and aid in thermoregulation, in the event they never develop—something that is surprisingly common—these monsters are prone to overheating when outside of the water, especially during hot days.
Drawn in 2024
This beast was drawn over the course of three days, taking a total of around 14 hours. Once I draw this monster again, I will likely redesign the bony protrusions to make their purpose clearer.
