This dream was about a Monster Hunter game which did not exist in real life, it took place in the Old World. There were these small worm-like monsters which could puppet larger dead monsters around, they did this as a form of protection; it's very easy to kill a worm, but it is much harder for the average person to kill a Rathalos. Nobody knew where these worms were coming from, but things got very bad near Val Habar in The Great Desert. A Dah'ren Mohran had been slain and was being processed, so it was missing large chunks of flesh and bone, especially near the head. Of course, it began moving again, but once it was defeated, a massive cephalopod-like monster emerged from the corpse and fled before it could be captured. This was the adult form of these "worms", I believe it was categorized as an Elder Dragon due to its power and the fact that the only cephalopod monsters so far have been Elder Dragons.
I accepted a different quest after this, one where I had to hunt a pair of Fanged Wyverns, they had large, plate-like scales which were black with white edges on certain parts. While they did sort of resemble a bulkier Lunagaron, their faces were more bear-like and their tail was very short. When enraged, their eyes and the gaps between their arm scales would glow red, large thorn-like spikes would unfold from parts of their body, and attacks would also inflict the Bleeding status effect. They were in this dark, foggy forest that kinda resembled some real world temperate rainforests.
I will definitely be adding these to my Monster Hunter inspired project.
