Gorgopedes are one of the most feared dragons due to their intelligence, gregariousness, and reputation for preying on dragonriders, primates and dragons make up a large part of their diet and dragonriders are an easy way to get both. Their long, serpentine body bears many legs, and though they lack wings, even dragons in flight are not safe as Gorgopedes are excellent climbers and have quick reflexes, crawling up the massive trees and lying in wait for a dragon to fly by before snatching it from the air. They lay their eggs in rotting logs, being incubated by the heat from the process of decay. Despite all this, they have been tamed before, it is risky and difficult, but Gorgopedes are incredibly loyal and protective of those they trust.
