Gorehydras are massive, grotesque Wyrms of no clear origin. Like the Bloodboiler, some believe them to be the spawn of Asmorium, but this hypothesis is considered questionable by those who are most familiar with this species. While they appear to have four heads, these are actually tentacles, the tip of each tentacle can open up to reveal a set of serrated pincers. These Wyrms not only lack heads, they do not have mouths either, though they can still feed through a rather bloody method; the Gorehydra tears a hole into any part of its own body using one of its pincers and shoves its prey inside, the self-created wound heals rapidly through its Ichor. Because of this rapid healing and the durability of their skin, these Wyrms are impossible to kill through traditional Wyrmkilling means, and as of yet, no method of actually slaying a Gorehydra has been discovered.
During one encounter with a Gorehydra, one of the Wyrmkillers involved managed to sever a tentacle, though this did not stop the Wyrm. In fact, the tentacle continued to attack the Wyrmkillers throughout the battle and while the tentacle itself was captured, the rest of the Gorehydra fled. It was discovered that if a piece larger than one meter in size is cut off from a Gorehydra, it will not die and will instead regenerate into a second Gorehydra. After this was discovered, the people studying the tentacle then drained the Ichor from its body, hoping it would die in this state, but that merely halted the regeneration. Researchers are still trying to discover how one could kill a Gorehydra, though only two have been seen on mainland Talveria.
None at the moment.
The Gorehydra was not actually based on or named after the mythological hydra, but is in fact based off of the real-world Hydras, this is shown in its appearance and abilities. I'm rather fascinated by those Cnidarians, so basing one of my Wyrms off of them felt like a good idea.
