PROJECT: DRAGONKILLER is about a war between the people of Mars and aliens that have been dubbed "dragons". Many have become mutated and altered by spores emitted by the strange, plant-like Drakesbloom, while others are picked off by Seeker Drakes. This war seems like it will never end, yet the commanders of each of Mars' colonies want to keep pushing forward. Is war really the answer, and why did the Dragons attack?
This project was based off of a dream I had once, the basic concept and creature design ideas are the same, with it being a military sci-fi type thing where people fight alien dragons. I wouldn't really consider this next part a major spoiler for the story once I work on it (I am planning on revealing most of this at the beginning), but the invasion is entirely the fault of the humans seeing something strange and immediately assuming them to be hostile and the only thing that actually stops this pointless war is not getting even more people killed, but ceasing fire, communicating with the dragons, and dismantling Mars' military.
Every dragon that will be seen in this project will have been developed from a noncombative dragon. Each dragon is designed with a purpose, some gather food and materials, some aid in the designing process of new dragons, some scout out curiosities, and some aid in the construction of the colony. Most are sophont, though Drakesbloom exist simply to make an atmosphere habitable to the dragons and lack a complex nervous system.
