The herbivorous Derokir were domesticated by early Slaazmadi humans for transportation and food in the form of their eggs. In wild-form Derokir, only the males have the signature bright blue coloration, though many female Domestic-form Derokir have been bred to also display this coloration. Juvenile Derokir completely lack this color but are able to morph color between green, tan, and brown so that they may better blend in. Wild Derokir are mainly found in the rainforests and savannas of Slaazmadal and Artoris, though domestic Derokir may be encountered across most of Talveria, though they are incapable of surviving the cold weather of its southernmost regions. Female Derokir are slightly larger than the males and are lighter in color, they also lack the fleshy horns that can be seen on the heads of mature males. Eggs are greyish-brown in color and are laid in woven nests. Said nests are created by the males as part of courtship, if the female is satisfied with the result, they will mate for life. Derokir travel in herds which consist of itself, its mate, their offspring, and the mates of their offspring. Once a herd reaches a certain size — typically around twenty members — half will leave to form their own herd.
Derokir mainly feed on grasses and seeds, their beaks are very sharp and excel at cutting grass, while the teeth found in the back of their mouth are suited for crushing. Additionally, they have a pair of canine-like teeth, these are not used for feeding and are instead used in self-defence. While they prefer to run from predators, they can deliver a nasty bite when desperate or if their offspring or mate are threatened. Wild Derokir tend to live around fifteen to twenty years, while domestic Derokir may live for nearly forty years. Domestic Derokir come in many breeds as well, working breeds tend to be much stockier and have thicker skin, display breeds are much brighter in color and in some, even the females have horns, and riding breeds have stronger legs and more powerful lungs.
Most Derokir are around twenty feet long and can weigh nearly a thousand pounds, though stockier breeds may even exceed it. As they only have two limbs, they mainly interact with the world using their mouth. Their long necks are incredibly flexible, they will often intertwine their neck with that of their mates, and in the case of domestic Derokir, they may atempt to do the same with their caretaker. Occasionally, Derokir pairs consisting of two males or two females are encountered, at first they were believed to be sibling pairs traveling together before finding their own mates, but it was eventually discovered that Derokir can be homosexual. Domestic homosexual pairs are often used to foster rejected or orphaned eggs and juveniles.

The Derokir was created in late 2021, though it was not part of Talveria at this point and was known as the Blue-spotted Shrieker. It was part of a now-scrapped sci-fi project, I ended up transferring both it and its carnivorous relative the Druskern to Talveria a few months after their creation.
