Dagran, Former Historian of Irengor.

Return to previous page.

Dagran is a leucistic Arvog of Irengor, he was appointed by the chieftain to be its lead historian. After recovering important historical documents related to the destruction of Old Irengor and the self-exile of its chieftain Rhorgan, Irengor was attacked by strange monsters called Wyrms, Dagran believes these to be connected somehow to the destroyer of old Irengor, something only known as the Doombringer. He joins the Kalgoran Wyrmkillers in an effort to learn more about these creatures, and to see if his theory is correct, that the Doombringer is an especially powerful Wyrm. In the process, he discovers a strange, jagged sword, forged from an unknown material and capable of draining Wyrms of their Ichor.

Design Notes

I actually came up with this guy's title (Argent Prince) before anything else about his character. For context, in northern Arvog society, a "Prince" is simply an individual who was appointed for their role by the chieftain specifically. Because his title wouldn't make sense for a typical northern Arvog (as they tend to come in darker colors), I made him leucistic. I got the idea for his name while listening to a few Rhapsody albums, one of the characters in the Emerald Sword Saga was named Dargor and I felt that this as yet unnamed Arvog should also have a name that begins with a 'D', other than that he doesn't have much in common with the half-demon antihero. Originally, Dagran's backstory was going to be completely unknown as he was supposed to be the last surviving member of the Irengor clan, though I made many changes since that time, and now he is fortunately not the last of his clan. In his current form, he's much less experienced in combat than his original form, though he gains more skill later on once he joins the Wyrmkillers. The red silk and gold borders of his robes show that he is a historian, Arvog of different professions wear differently colored robes as a signifier of this.
