Canker Drakes are rare, six-limbed dragons found in the Moldering Forest, they feed upon fungi and most small-to-medium animals. Their pitted, gnarled skin ranges from grey to brown, while the tough scales on their feet and lower legs, head, back, and tail tend to be black, especially in older individuals. As long as they are still, they are nearly invisible against the twisted trees of their home forest, many dangerous creatures may be encountered, so they'd much rather stay out of trouble. If they are discovered, their toxic skin secretions and breath that sickens plants and beasts alike are usually enough. Some cultures boil their fallen scales in water to produce a tea-like drink, the heat neutralizes any toxins present. In order to aquire scales, some people will trade with the dragons, exchanging meat and fungi for their shed scales.
None at the moment.
The Canker Drake was originally created for a different project of mine, but I have moved it over to this one. Its main inspirations are chaga (Inonotus obliquus) and various other species of canker fungus. The ability to create a tea-like drink from their scales was also inspired by chaga.
