Caliban is a dragon who spent much of its life fighting in the Empire's Amphitheatre. Its bulk and thick, black scales offer a significant amount of protection from the weapons wielded by the gladiators, though it still retains many scars from them. Caliban was not its original name, but it no longer remembers the name it went by before being captured.
