The Bloody Butcherdrake is a large pseudowyvern which is found in the central regions. It gains its name from its red saliva, gaining its color from an anticoagulant it produces, as well as its habit of hunting other dragons. Despite their size and weight, they are competent fliers, though they cannot fly for very long. Bloody Butcherdrakes use their six eyes and excellent sense of smell to locate prey, once something is found, it will stop at nothing until its prey is dead. Typically, they will rear up on their hind limbs and slam their wing-arms down on their prey in an attempt to crush it, though if that doesn't do it in, the Butcherdrake will deliver a killing blow with its powerful jaws. During intraspecific confrontations, they prefer to use their tail clubs, these fights are typically to establish dominance and are only rarely to the death. Despite their reputation, they rarely attack humans, as they are far too small for these dragons to consider prey in most cases. Unlike more derived pseudowyverns, they have not lost their forelimbs entirely, though they are far too small for their original purpose. These vesigial arms are now used as display structures, bearing a retractable, brightly colored membrane. During breeding season, Butcherdrakes will rear up on their hind legs and extend these membranes in an attempt to attract a mate, the more vibrant the colors are, the healthier they are. Both males and females are known to do this. Once the female lays its eggs, it will bury them with rotting plant material, both to hide them from potential egg eaters, as well as to provide more warmth. It is not known if these dragons utilize any form of magic, but it is currently believed that they do not.
