This project takes place on an alien planet that had been discovered by humans on a journey to find a habitable planet after Earth was made near-unlivable by an asteroid crash. This new planet was marginally more livable than Earth and had a massive chunk blown out of it, but there were no other alternatives. So now, humans live alongside strange, alien mutants of many kinds, though they must always be careful to avoid the Holy Cephalopod Imperium, lest they become one of their many experiments. This planet has many mysteries that none have found the answers to, why does the capital city of Junktown so heavily resemble the ruins of many of Earth's largest cities? Why do several mutant species resemble creatures which came from Earth? Where did the Holy Cephalopod Imperium come from?
This project was created in 2022 as part of my monstober project. Every creature made during those 31 days were entirely "improvised" (I'd draw whatever features came to mind first and not erase anything unless I was cleaning up or slightly correcting lines). Many parts of this project's worldbuilding have also been developed this way, this is how I came up with the Holy Cephalopod Imperium and the Great Tar Swamps. I do have creatures I made outside those days, they had a more standard design process. "Apocalyptical" was actually its placeholder name, but seeing as it has been a placeholder for two years now, I'll just stick with it. Some creatures from this project were also created before it existed, they were simply transplanted from previous worlds.
